The Acceptance of Marketing Fun Games In Learning Tourism And Hospitality Marketing

Abstract

'Marketing Fun Game' is an innovative product in the teaching and learning process that is using famous game board that called snake and ladder game. This product created because the existing method of teaching and learning process nowadays is challenging to attract the students to focus on the class. The objective of this project innovation is to increase level of knowledge and understanding of student toward Tourism and Hospitality Marketing course. This course is compulsory to enroll for all student in Tourism and Hospitality Department, Politeknik Malaysia. To give student more enjoyable in the class and engage with teaching and learning process, therefore, the Marketing Fun Game board was created. The product is foldable and portable. It will ease the user, whether the students or the lecturer to use it in the class or anywhere. It also has a value added of element Augmented Reality (AR) in this game through the 'Artivive' application. To see the level of acceptance of this game board to student a survey has been done. This study used the questionnaire as a research instrument and distributed to 148 respondents consisting of Semester two students from Diploma Event Management (DEV), semester three students from Diploma Foodservice Halal Practice Management (DHF) and Diploma Tourism Management (DUP) programs from Tourism and Hospitality Department. Data were analyzed using statistical package software for social science version 22. Result achieve a positive achievement shows from respondents’ reflection on the aspect that has studied.
