EXPLORING THE LEVEL OF TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE ON CIDOS-LMS AMONG STUDENTS OF DEPARTMENT OF DESIGN AND VISUAL COMMUNICATION, POLITEKNIK TUANKU SYED SIRAJUDDIN
Abstract
The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) suggests that the perceived ease of use of a technology and its perceived usefulness determine its acceptance and consumption. The ongoing study examined the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in the context of work-related activities using e-learning. TAM has been used as a framework to propose the potential impact of various factors on the adoption of e-learning as an instrument of instruction. The rapid development of Internet technology in Malaysia has led to a surge in the use of e-learning as a preferred educational method in TVET institutions. It has been incorporated into several polytechnic academic programmes and is one of the emerging educational ideas that challenge the traditional model of education. The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of Curriculum Information Document Online System (CIDOS) LMS based on TAM model among the students of Department of Design and Visual Communication at Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin. This study examines the students' willingness to utilize this online platform. According to the model, the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of the platform determine the intention to use it. A sample size of 120 students from the department was selected using the survey questionnaire. Students are required to respond to four areas of the questionnaire pertaining to demographic factors: ease of use, usefulness of, and intention to use the e-learning platform. The results indicate that the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of the platform are moderately accepted, which therefore impacts users' preference to utilize the platform.
