ANALYSIS OF ALFAMART AND INDOMARET RETAIL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ON THE GROWTH OF MICRO, SMALL, AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (MSME) IN INDONESIA

Abstract

Indonesia has now entered the era of global competition, where everyone is given the freedom to own and develop businesses, both small, medium, and large. Modern retail businesses have several types of businesses, including minimarkets, supermarkets, and hypermarkets. In the minimarket group, there are two major players, namely Alfamart and Indomaret. Economic and technological changes that influence consumer shifts. The growth of modern retail has changed the economic landscape, reached villages, and influenced MSMEs. While MSMEs continue to grow, the presence of Alfamart and Indomaret has caused competition that threatens traditional warungs. This study aims to analyze the influence of the development of retail businesses, especially Alfamart and Indomaret, on MSMEs in Indonesia. This study was conducted using a descriptive quantitative method. The data source used is time series secondary data with a time range of 2013-2022. The results of the study state that there is no significant influence from the presence of Alfamart and Indomaret retail businesses on the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia.
