INNOVATION OF JIG FROM MANUAL TO SEMI-AUTO : CDIO BASED APPROACH
Abstract
This research is about the improvement the cycle time of manual handling on injection molding machine. This injection molding machine is used to produce bush lower arm part for car engine mounting. The problem come when the jig is inserted into the mold where more time is used to handle the jig collisions when inserting the jig into the machine. To solve this problem, the design of jig is improved and arm robot is used to improve the cycle time of the process. The CDIO method i.e. Conceiving, Designing, Implementing, Operating (CDIO) is used to design the jig. As a result, the time cycle of the process was reduced. As a result, the time cycle of the process was reduced 4.9%.
