DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH (ECG) TRAINING KIT SYSTEM AS A LEARNING MEDIA

Abstract

Educational tool is a learning media that can be used as a channel in the learning activities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency in achieving the learning objectives. Since the Covid-19 outbreaks, the needs for advanced learning media in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) among student is vital because education has significantly shifted toward a fully student-centered approach. Biomedical Engineering students that mostly involved in practical learning in their college also affected. Most of the students attend the class virtually and they experienced many challenges such as they are not able to perform the practical class and only get to attend theory class from home. Moreover, the lecturer faced difficulties in delivering the learning material, and on the other side, the students also struggled a lot to absorb the knowledge during the class. Besides, student's low understanding of relationship of theory and practical learning makes their learning process become harder. To overcome this circumstances, an Electrocardiograph (ECG) Training Kit as a Learning Media is invented to enhance education, training, skills and development among students. This learning media of ECG training kit provides the study of few ECG elements such as ECG Leads Placement, ECG output with Heart Rate and heart rhythm condition.. Also, it is a detachable system of hardware and application software that can be applied in online learning platform.
